Terms of Service

Last Updated: April 2026

Welcome to SimpleOnlineNotary.com. By accessing our website and utilizing our Remote Online Notarization (RON) services, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before starting your session.

1. Services Provided

SimpleOnlineNotary.com provides a platform that connects users with commissioned Notaries Public for the purpose of performing digital notarizations via live audio-video technology. All notarizations are performed in accordance with the statutes of the Notary’s commissioning state.

2. Identity Verification Requirements

To comply with legal mandates, you must undergo a multi-step identity verification process:

  • Credential Analysis: You must provide a clear, valid government-issued photo ID.
  • Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA): You must successfully answer a series of security questions generated from your credit and public record history.
  • Live Verification: You must appear on camera and be identified by the Notary Public.

3. Tech & Connectivity

You are responsible for ensuring you have a compatible device (Smartphone, Tablet, or Computer) with a working camera, microphone, and a stable internet connection. SimpleOnlineNotary.com is not responsible for failed sessions caused by user-side technical difficulties.

4. Fees and Payment

  • Flat Rate: The fee for a standard notarization session is $25.00. Additional fees (not to exceed state maximums) will be discussed and applied if necessary.
  • Payment Timing: You will be prompted for payment information at the start of the process, but your card will only be charged once the notarization meeting is successfully completed.
  • Refunds: Because our service is rendered instantly upon completion of the digital seal, fees are generally non-refundable once the document has been notarized.

5. Record Keeping and Privacy

Per state RON regulations, the audio-video recording of your notarization session will be captured and stored securely in the Notary’s electronic journal for the period required by law (typically 5 to 10 years). By using this service, you explicitly consent to being recorded during the session.

6. Document Acceptance

While Remote Online Notarization is legally recognized in all 50 states, SimpleOnlineNotary.com does not guarantee that your specific receiving party (bank, government office, or private entity) will accept an electronic notarization. It is your responsibility to verify acceptance before the session.

7. User Conduct

You agree to provide truthful and accurate information. Any attempt to use this service for fraudulent purposes, including the presentation of forged documents or identity theft, will result in immediate termination of the session and reporting to the appropriate legal authorities.

8. Limitation of Liability

SimpleOnlineNotary.com and its independent notaries are not responsible for any document’s legal effectiveness or for any damages arising from a third party’s refusal to accept the notarized document.
